The demand for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to be appointed as the convenor of the INDIA alliance has gained momentum following his appointment as the president of the JDU. The BJP has responded to the discussions about Nitish Kumar's potential role as the convenor in the INDIA alliance. Union Minister Nityanand Rai stated on Tuesday that whether Nitish Kumar becomes the convener or not doesn't matter, suggesting that Nitish's support base has diminished, and there is no prominent face in opposition to Modi.

Congress leader Meem Afzal dismissed reports of a meeting within the INDIA alliance and the potential appointment of Nitish Kumar as a media creation. However, sources indicate that a virtual meeting, including leaders from Nitish Kumar's JDU and Congress, is scheduled for December 3. Senior Congress leaders are expected to propose Nitish Kumar as the convenor, and discussions have taken place with leaders of major opposition parties, who have reportedly expressed agreement.

The political atmosphere in Bihar has heated up amid discussions about Nitish Kumar's role within the INDIA alliance. RJD MLA Bhai Virendra expressed support, stating a desire for Bihar to secure every post within the alliance, while JDU leader Sanjay Jha maintained that there is currently no information about Nitish Kumar being assigned a special responsibility within the alliance, emphasizing its unity.
